Player of the match, Georgia Harrison was solid in defence, while Jessica Davis and Rachel Roley made some good runs down the wings to keep Balgownie pegged back in their own half, but it was an overall solid team performance from the girls for a deserved win.
Kiama U12 Girls v Dapto
On a chilly Sunday morning all the girls were looking forward to another tough game of football. Teigan took an early great run up the side using great ball control skills making some great ground. Tess took one for the team with a rogue ball to the face as she defended her goal end in spectacular fashion.
Emma didn't take her eye off the ball while fending off a group of charging players and as a result took a great intercept. Eliza used her head well bouncing off a great high ball straight to one of her team mates, outstanding! Strong up front, Emily managed to make up important ground heading towards the goal end.
Emilee turned the ball brilliantly before booting it straight up the centre of the field removing the ball beautifully from the Dapto attack. The crowd became excited as Amy took a great kick up mid field towards the goal and followed at a leopards pace pushing past the defence time and time again.
Goal keeper Avalon knocked back ball after ball during the first half making some great saves. Emma was always in the thick of the action making some great defensive moves and tackles on the opposing team. Imogen's speed and timing proved invaluable when the team moved towards the scoring end and all the girls worked hard to pass the ball back and forward to each other.
All the spectators were impressed by the continual improving skills of all the players. Individual ball control skills and passing to each other is improving each week. We may not have won on the day but all the girls should be proud of their efforts. Well done.
