U9 RED

Kiama U13.1 v Thirroul

Kiama Under-13 girls Division One side tasted defeat for the first time since the team was formed at Under-12 level last year.

With only 10 fit players and two walking wounded, Kiama lost 4-0 at Thirroul.

Striker, Claire Farquhar, harassed the defence and ran tirelessly all game, while Chelsea Ford did the work of several players in midfield, and Kelsey Wishart had another outstanding game at the back. To the team's credit, Thirroul only went in 1-0 up at half time.

Player of the match, Amy Hudson in Kiama's goal, pulled off some marvellous saves to keep the scoreline down, but against a fully fit squad, Kiama ran out of steam towards the end of the game eventually losing 4-0.

Kiama U17 Girls v Lakeside

The 17 Girls went down 3-0 in a gruelling encounter at Lakeside. Solid defence from Player of the Match Erin McParland and Eliza Wilcox and heroic goalkeeping by Tahla Robinson kept the opposition scoreless till after half time. Kiama were unlucky not to score themselves thanks to penetrating runs by Katie Robinson and Kim Gowland, who were fed by the tireless midfield combination of Courtney Moon and Caitlin Brindley. Kiama’s mounting injury toll in the second half was testament to the effort of all the girls.

Kiama U16.2 v Thirroul

The 16.2 travelled to Thirroul on Sunday afternoon for their second match of the season. The boys played a great game but went down 3 – 1 in a physical game. James Malin converted from the spot to level the game at 1 – 1 but after the boys were reduced to 10 men the game quickly went Thirroul’s way with two late goals. Let hope the boys can turn it around this Friday night at Russel Vale. Thanks to Charlie Carlson and Josh Keatley for helping out
