Kiama U7 Green v Albion Park
The Kiama U7 Green side played Albion Park on Saturday in very windy conditions. The Kiama boys were able to create a lot of shots on goal through some terrific passing and team play. Brodey Jelliffe and Harry Creighton had terrific games covering the mid field and were able to put some great passes through to Damon Bishop who found the net on several occassions. Joel Spain and Zen Del Solar were kept very busy in defence and were able to stop most attempts from Albion Park. Ryan Jones had a great game covering all over the field when needed.
Kiama U13.1 Girls v Figtree
LAST Sunday in The Quarry, The Kiama Under-13 Girls climbed to the top of the Division One table, after its gutsy 2-0 win over rivals Figtree.
In a hard, sometimes physical game, Kiama controlled large portions of the play but could not convert its chances, until Seychelle Albert put striker Chloe Cafe through to score with a tremendous strike from 20 metres to give Kiama a well earned 1-0 halftime advantage.
Sharna Dobson was pivotal to Kiama keeping a clean sheet, with some memorable defensive work, while Amy Hudson in goal, comfortably accounted for any shots on target.
Midfield stars, Chelsea Ford, Kelsey Wishart, Jess Davis and Rachel Roley, worked hard to keep Figtree limited to its chances and kept the visitors pegged down in their own half for long spells.
Striker Riley Wishart, scored the all important second goal midway through the second half, after some good inter-passing play with Claire Farquhar.
Courtney Bowman made a pleasing return to the game off the bench in midfield, after a long-term injury.
Kiama U11 v Oak Flats
The Kiama U11 side played Oak Flats on Saturday. Oak Flats were restricted to one goal, through some great defence from Kyle Jelliffe, Jake Cleal-Cook, Dean Heffernan, Brett Wall and Ben Healey. Goal Keepers Darcy Crook and Trent Bishop showed great courage stopping all but one screamer of a shot. Our midfielders Ben Faulkner, Callum Rogers and Jordan Kirk all worked extremely hard covering plenty of ground. Up front, Che Stubbs, Oliver Doswell and Joshua Spain tried all game to get the equaliser but Oak Flats were able to leave with the points.
Kiama U8 Red v Unanderra Red
Kiama Under 8 Reds celebrated a great win against a spirited Unanderra Red. The two Harrison's (Dillon and Kiteley) enjoyed more luck than the Socceroo's with 2 goals each. Xavier Lenarduzzi scored a great goal before half time. Conor Wheatley and Jackson Allen made excellent ground in attack.Matthew Healey throws his body on the line every week. Alisdair Currie and Seamus Back played some great defensive moves. Jackson Falconer made a number of great saves as goalie, one in particular -leaping mid air to catch the ball on the chest, knocked off balance and landing just shy of the line- the crowd roared!
