Kiama U13.1 Girls v Shellharbour

Kiama Under-13 Girls totally dominated its opponent last Friday night in The Quarry, with a convincing 8-1 win over Shellharbour in its IJFA Division One game.

Jessica Davis scored the opening goal in the first minute from a great cross by player of the game, Rachel Roley from the right wing. Roley created two more goals for Kiama with some deft touches to release Claire Farquhar and Davis again just before half time, as the teams went in at the interval at 3-1.

In midfield, Chloe Cafe scored a fine goal as did her engine room partner Seychelle Albert, to take the score to 5-1, before Davis netted again for her hat trick, while striker Farquhar capitalised on defensive errors to score twice in an overall solid team performance and complete her hat trick.

Chelsea Ford was once again paramount to the teams success, while Georgie "Spud" Alexander played another great game at the back, and Riley Wishart showed some outstanding wing play in the second half.

All in all it was a great performance from a team that is destined to challenge for the Division One title this season as the girls are starting to realise their potential.

Kiama U9 Red v Albion Park

The draw result was not a true reflection of the game which saw Kiama u9 reds dominate Albion Park Yellows. While it was Cam Kirk who scored, there was a fantastic distribution of convincing attempts at goal  by  Zac Kennedy, Ethan Case, Trent Alchin, Tyler Haig and Noah Casolin. Defensive strength came from our backs, Tom Mc Hugh, Jake Richards, Max Bullen and Blake Rogers.  Harvey Austin and Gilles Robinson were sorely missed due to injury and sickness. Well Played boys!

Kiama U8 Whites v Unanderra

After a three week hiatus due to inclement weather, the mighty Kiama under 8 Whites were well prepared for their Saturday fixture against an in-form Unanderra. With the benefit of a guest coaching stint by Kiama 1st Grade’s Andy Lockhardt, the team drew a record crowd despite the winter chill. Early goals to the Unanderra side prompted a swift reply, with Jacob Laughton and Max O’Brien constantly peppering the opposition keeper. Stoic defence from Casey Stratten and the enforcer Adam Peterson thwarted a barrage of raids from the visitors, with Lachlan Eckman proving impenetrable in goal.    Luke Parisotto and Solomon Ivanoff  combined brilliantly in the second half and left defenders sprawling with accurate passing and angled runs,Max Parisotto’s move to goalie proved decisive with booming kicks from the penalty box turning the match.

For such a rapidly improving team with a fanatical supporter base, the players remained focused and calm, with football being the winner on the day
