Substitution

The interchange is complete when the player who was off the field hands the bib he/she was wearing to the player being removed from the field, who then wears the bib until he/she goes back onto the field.
Coaches
Coaches and Managers ID cards to be worn on a lanyard. A generic acting coach/manager card can be used if necessary.
Match Times
All U18 will play 40 minutes each way.
Goal Kicks
In the U10 mixed, U10G and U11G grades, goal kicks shall be taken from the imaginary line drawn through the penalty spot. Free kicks awarded to the defending team, which occur inside the penalty area between the goal line and imaginary line shall be taken from the imaginary line.
TEAM POINTS – This applies to players, parents, supporters, team officials
At the start of each season, all teams are allotted a number of “team points”.
Nominated offences carry a number of demerit points which are accumulated to the team. The Board will provide a list of offences and penalties each season.
Demerit points will be awarded for offences by players, team officials and spectators.
When a team accumulates a given number of demerit points they are given a warning including what may constitute further action.
When a team accumulates half of their demerit points they are given a first formal warning including what may constitute further action.
When a team accumulates three – quarters of their demerit points they are given a second formal warning, including the possibility of being withdrawn from the competition and will be stood down from their next competition match.
When a team accumulates the nominated number of demerit points they are withdrawn from the competition / season. Team expulsion will only occur after the team and its Club has appeared before the Board and have failed to show reasonable cause why they should not be expelled.
Where it is noted that a club has persistent offenders, the Board may cite the club, if, in its opinion, the Club is not performing its role of Club discipline.
This by – law does not supersede other By – Laws whereby the penalty for such demands team withdrawl.
COACH AND MANAGER
INFORMATION
Welcome to the Kiama Junior Soccer Club (KJFC) for 2010 season. We appreciate your offer and commitment to coach or manage this season. Without your support we simply would not be able to operate. We hope you will have an enjoyable experience in coaching and managing and the committee is endeavoring to provide more support and encouragement to you for this season.
We understand that particularly as a first time coach/manager this may appear be a daunting task. I am sure you will find the assistance offered by Spiros Pappas as Coaching Co-ordinator invaluable to you.
“It is important that any coach in charge of young children understands that successful coaching has little to do with winning or losing, but has a lot to do with skill development as well as social and character development”
We want to encourage a positive learning environment ensuring the kids have FUN.
- The scheduled first round commences on Saturday 10th April for U6-U14. U15’s and above commence Sunday 11th April 2010 All round dates are on the IJFA web site and the full draw will be available from our web site closer to season start.
- IJFA Knockout Day for all U10yrs is scheduled for Sunday16th or 23rd May TBA. We will advise draw details as soon as received. The club will accept forfeits from teams provided the team pays $50 to cover the IJFA fine for a forfeit.
- IJFA requires a coach to be accredited with a Junior License (Level 1). If you do not hold this accreditation you will be titled “Manager.” Coaches are required to be a financial member of the Club. If you have not yet joined please let us register you now for $2.00.
- We recommend as a coach or manager you encourage another parent to assist as “manager” or “team manager’s assistant” if one has not nominated. There may be circumstances which prevent you from attending a training session or match. The assistance offered by this person may allow you to better focus on the skill development of the kids and in some instances bring significant skills in coaching themselves. Please have them see the committee to complete the appropriate application and Child Protection Form.
- Child protection is the most critical responsibility we all have. You will be provided important information on this along with Coach/Player Code of Conduct. Our Child Protection Officer is Margaret Lukian. Please refer any matters of concern to Margaret or the committee. Please ensure we actively patrol proper respect of the goal posts. Please report any matters of concern to ground marshals or the committee.
- Please ensure that players have shin pads and boots for every training session and match. Without these they will be unable to play. We will be asking parents to attend each training session. If a parent is unable to stay the coach MUST have a contact number at which the parent can be reached at all times (i.e. mobile) in the event of an injury to their child or that coaching is cancelled early due to weather or other circumstances. This assumes the coach has a mobile phone and is happy to undertake this. This will be up to each coach. Parents will be asked to confirm the coach’s attendance prior to leaving players.
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to match start. If you are playing at home on the early game please encourage a couple of parents to arrive a little earlier to assist with erecting the goal nets. Please remove the nets if you are the last match for the day on that particular ground. Please ensure that Team Sheets are completed accurately for all teams Graded and RooBall at least 15 minutes prior to the match start. Graded coaches are to ensure team sheets are signed at the end of each match. The pink copies of team sheets when playing away need to be returned to Dawn Power at the next week’s home game. Graded coaches need to phone the secretary with the games result for away games by 5.00pm on the game day. The Club is fined for incomplete or unsigned team sheets or late advice of game results.
- For Graded Coaches during games, please ensure you remain within any designated coaching box or within 5m of the half way line on the side designated by the ground marshal. Please obey all directions of Ground Marshals. Refer any match day disputes or issues to the Ground Marshal or Club secretary.
Copies of IJSA By-Laws (Section 2) relating to Graded competition playing rules and match procedures and RooBall (Section 3) playing rules and match procedures are attached. Please ensure you are familiar with the rules and match day procedures.
- We are very keen to lift the profile of Junior Football in Kiama. Kids are lucky to have numerous sporting opportunities in town and we want to ensure that we have the best profile to encourage existing players to continue through the playing ranks with Kiama and new players to want to become part of a great team sport. Match reports will be featured weekly in the Kiama Independent. The match reports work on a roster basis and we will advise details in due course. Please encourage some or all parents to have an input in this regard. Please submit a match report by e-mail to our Publicity Officer Pauline Pickles at donpaulinepickles@bigpond.com by 5.00pm Sunday. Font. Times Roman. Size 12.
- Our monthly club newsletter “On The Ball” will advise upcoming events and other important information. We will advise by e-mail when newsletters are available for collection. They can be collected from the room above the canteen in the team pigeonholes. This room is generally open on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday and Sunday mornings on game days. Please ensure prompt collection and distribution. Please get into the habit of regularly checking for information in the pigeonholes.
- Kiama Junior Football Clubs’ monthly general meetings are mostly held on the first Monday of each month at Kiama Leagues Club at 7.30pm.A representative from each team is required to attend the monthly general meeting.
- Each Coach will need e-mail access themselves or access to a parent with e-mail access. This is our preferred method of communication given team numbers and needs checking regularly. Please advise any changes of address promptly.
All correspondence should be sent to -: The Secretary, Kiama Junior Soccer Club,
P.O Box 418, Kiama, NSW, 2533.
The Club will be having only one social night in the 2010 season 'The Evening Spectacular' held on Sat 19th June 2010, but the intention is to make it a beauty. Based on the feedback from last year, tickets will be in high demand. The night will be at Kiama Leagues Club and will feature a live show and then a top quality band. It is hoped that parents will get behind the Club on this one and make it both a successful night and one to look forward to repeating in the following years. Watch the newsletters for further details.During the night there will be raffles and activities with some great prizes.
Get your team together and make a table!
Each team will be required to appoint 2 people as ground marshals probably on a couple of occasions during home matches. We will draw up a team roster that will be emailed to you and posted on the web. These folk will be required to wear an orange fluoro vest and undertake some basic duties including direction of parents and players around the grounds and possibly team card checks. They will be required to attend for the full mornings match roster. Information and assistance will be provided to these folk.
- We seek your assistance in promoting parents to support our canteen. It is a valuable source of revenue to the Club. We have arranged staffing of the canteen without the need for team volunteers.
- The draw will be available on our web site. There is a link from each match location to give you address and map locations. This should be very helpful.
- Our web site “kiamajuniorsoccer.com” proved to be the most valuable source for information distribution last season. It will have all draw details, ground availability updated weekly and club news. It will be upgraded throughout the season and will be our main communication tool. We envisage that each team will have a team page which they can update with match reports and team information. Please ensure that we only identify players by first names on these pages.
- Our information line can be accessed throughout the year on 82303406 (local call cost). This will be updated weekly or more frequently if necessary to promote upcoming events and important information. It supports multiple incoming callers and can be accessed on game days where there are concerns with weather conditions. We will update the line as early as possible in these instances. We encourage you to promote this number to all parents.
